Travel Trade & Coach Tour Operators
If you’re organising tours across Bristol, talk to us about a bespoke visit to Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge & Museum.
There are lots of ways to experience the bridge, including private guided tours, photo stops, and exploring at your own pace. Please reach out with your requirements and we’ll be happy to recommend a custom itinerary for your group, including out-of-hours visits.*
*Pre-booking for all visits is essential. If you do not pre-book we will not be able to provide a tour, and we may not be able to accommodate your group in the Museum.
Visiting Opportunities:
Clifton Suspension Bridge Tour (45 mins – 1 hour) – A tour of the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge with one of our knowledgeable guides. Beginning at the Clifton Toll Booth you’ll learn all about how Brunel’s first bridge was almost never built, with many interesting stories along the way.
Can be themed to suit the interests of your group.
Hard Hat Tour (1 hour) – In 2002, 138 years after the bridge was completed, 12 vaulted chambers were discovered inside the bridge. This tour takes you inside two of the chambers, exploring how these magnificent feats of engineering were built and why they were lost to time.
Our most popular tour, welcoming over 3,000 visitors in 2023 alone. This tour has a maximum size of 15 people, but it is possible to run multiple tours consecutively.
Self-Guided Tour (30 mins – 2 hours) – Walk across the bridge at your own pace and visit the Clifton Suspension Bridge Museum. The bridge is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the Museum is open daily 10:00-17:00.
We recommend the views from the top of Observatory Hill (near Clifton Observatory) and Sion Hill (near the Avon Gorge Hotel). Both are accessed via paved footpaths (sloped, without steps).
Photo Opportunity (15 mins) – This stop will allow your group to disembark and take photographs of the spectacular Clifton Suspension Bridge with views across the Avon Gorge and the city of Bristol.
The River Avon is a tidal river. For the best photo opportunities check when high tide will be or find out more about expected conditions on the day.
Accessibility:
We offer tours in English, French and British Sign Language with spoken English.
