Clifton Suspension Bridge is the most photographed attraction in Bristol, and the seventh most photographed place in the UK! Google reviews say the most popular photo spot is at the base of the tower on the Clifton side. Make sure to get your own photo of Bristol’s famous structure when you visit! You can also book a Hard Hat Tour of the hidden vaults to see the bridge in a new way. We run a variety of other free and ticketed tours throughout the year. We also offer children’s activities for families and school groups.
Visit the museum
Our accessible museum is free for visitors and is run by our friendly volunteer team. Inside, you can watch a film about how Clifton Suspension Bridge was built. You can also discover historical objects from our archival collection and hear what the bridge means to locals through their own personal stories. We also have an Education Workshop where you can try bridge-building for yourself.
The museum is funded entirely by your donations, tour tickets and sales from the Clifton Suspension Bridge gift shop. Your support allows us to keep the history of Brunel’s first bridge alive through our museum and education programmes. Clifton Suspension Bridge is an integral part of Bristol’s story, and we love sharing its history. We couldn’t do it without your support, so thank you!
