Tours for Schools
We offer a wide variety of tours tailored to school groups of all ages, from Early Years to A-Level. Led by our White Badge qualified Learning Facilitators, tours explain the history, construction and maintenance of the bridge and share the stories of those connected to it in the past.
Our popular tours for schools are available for all ages, abilities and interest levels. Tours are available between 9.30am and 5pm on weekdays but to avoid disappointment, we advise that you book your visit well in advance.
Our current offers are listed below. To make a booking, or enquire about a tailored visit, please complete the School Enquiry Form.
Our tours typically last one hour. If you would like to extend your time at the bridge, why not add a workshop or self-led exhibition visit to your programme? If you have a large group or would like to stay in the area for longer to make the most of your coach hire, we suggest:
- Local environment, living things & habitats, climate, geology: The Avon Gorge and Downs Wildlife Project offer hands-on activities for primary and secondary schools.
- Local history, Victorians, science of Light: The Clifton Observatory‘s camera obscura offers a fun way to learn about light and early photography.
- Physical education: If you’re looking for more of an adventurous trip, check out the thrilling activities of Adventure Bristol at nearby Ashton Court.
