About Bridge Cards
If you regularly commute across the bridge, having a Bridge Card could make your crossings cheaper and quicker. The more crossings you purchase, the cheaper it becomes! Order your Clifton Suspension Bridge Card here.
- Purchase 50, 100, 400 or 1000 prepaid crossings at a time.
- Crossings purchased together cannot be split across multiple cards.
- Crossings do not have an expiry date.
- Your card is not registered to a particular vehicle. After getting your card, you can then register a maximum of two vehicles to it for faster ANPR crossings.
- You can recharge your card online or by phone.
- An additional £10 will be added to your first purchase to cover the issuing of the card.
- Our Bridge Card team are available from 8.30am-12.30pm Monday to Thursday.
- Any purchases made after 12.30pm on Thursday will be processed on the first working day of the following week.
Accepted credit/debit cards
Please note that we DO NOT take American Express or Diners Cards.

Collecting your Bridge Cards
Any new Bridge Cards will be mailed out by 2nd Class post.
All applicants who require 3 or more Bridge Cards should arrange to collect them in person.
Recharge Bridge Cards by phone
Empty and expired Clifton Suspension Bridge Cards can be reactivated and topped up online or by telephone.
How to use your Bridge Card
As you approach the Clifton Suspension Bridge toll barriers, you will see arrows on the machine advising where to hold your card. Hold your Bridge Card over this, then the traffic light will change to green, and the barrier will rise. The amount of credit you have remaining on your card will be displayed on the screen.
Refunds
If you change your mind about your purchase, you can return the unused Bridge Card to us within 14 days. We will issue a full refund upon receipt.
If you have used your Bridge Card within the 14 days and wish to return it, we will issue a refund, minus the crossings used, as well as deducting a £10 administration fee.
Lost or stolen cards
If your Bridge Card is lost or stolen, a new card can be sent to you with your crossing balance remaining. A charge of £10 will be made to cover the issuing of the new card.
